Thermal Transfer Ribbons

Thermal transfer printers use both heat and pressure to produce “print”. A thermal transfer printer melts ink from a thermal transfer ribbon onto a special label material to produce the “print”.

Thermal transfer ribbons comes in three basic types:

  • wax ribbons
  • resin ribbons
  • blend of both wax & resin

Each type of thermal transfer ribbon provides a varying degree of image quality and staying power.
